We will also witness the daily lifestyles, culture, and traditions of the Sherpa people and visit the ancient Tengboche Monastery in Tengboche.

Our Everest Panorama trek begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu (or Manthali) to Lukla, presenting us with epic Himalayan vistas. You will meet your trek guide in Kathmandu, who will travel along with you to Lukla. Upon landing in the renowned Tenzing-Hillary Airport, you will be introduced to your porter. A single porter will only carry up to 20 kilograms of weight. We will then take a short trek to Phakding.

The next day we will head towards Namche Bazaar, alongside the Dudh Koshi River. En route, you will cross several suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags. Finally, we will reach Namche Bazaar, a bustling town with friendly local Sherpas. From the town, glimpses of the mighty Mount Everest and several other soaring peaks can be observed.

There will be a full day reserved for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. This day brings a perfect opportunity for you to explore around the nearby villages like Khumjung and Khunde and famous attractions such as Syangboche Airport and Everest View Hotel. The following day we will head to Tengboche and visit the ancient Tengboche Monastery (3,867 m), which is the oldest monastery in the Khumbu region.

We will then return back to Namche Bazaar and then to Lukla, passing through rich forests of rhododendrons and pines. Our rewarding Everest Panorama trek is completed as we take our scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu/Manthali and to your hotel.

The Everest View Trek is an accessible trek that involves 5 hours of walks daily and never goes beyond 4000 m, making it ideal for trekkers with a decent level of fitness. This trek truly offers an amazing introduction to the Himalayan landscape and local Sherpa culture of the Everest region.

Essential Information

Meals on the Everest View Trek

The meals provided during the Everest View Trek will be hygienic, tasty, and nutritious. The most common dish will be the traditional Daal Bhat Tarkari (rice, lentils, and veggies). Other Asian and continental dishes are also available along the trek. The options in the menu get limited as we trek to higher regions.

For breakfast, you can have Tibetan bread/chapati, tea, coffee, eggs, pancakes, cornflakes, and porridge.

Lunch and dinner options include daal bhat tarkari (rice, lentils, and veggies), momo, chowmein, thukpa, spaghetti, garlic soup, mushroom soup, potato dishes, and so on.

You are advised to stay hydrated and drink beverages such as tea, hot lemon, green tea, and garlic soup. Non-veg items are also available but we do not recommend you eat them due to hygiene concerns. Avoid beverages with caffeine and alcohol at higher locations.

Accommodations during the Everest View Trek

Your stay will mainly be in local teahouses/lodges during the Everest view trek. The teahouses will have basic but comfortable and clean rooms. The rooms consist of twin sharing beds, a pillow, and a blanket. Bathrooms will either be attached to the room or will be shared. There won’t be any heaters in the room, so bringing a sleeping bag for the night will be a great choice.

Most teahouses have a dining hall, where you can gather in the evenings to have your meal and take warmth by sitting near the lit stove. You can find electricity in most teahouses, where you are able to charge your electronic devices for an additional fee.

Best Time for the Everest Panorama Trek

The most appropriate times for the Everest View Trek (Everest Panorama Trek) are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November) seasons. These seasons are the most preferred, as they offer stable weather, warm temperatures, and clear visibility of the Himalayan views. With that being said, the trek can be done throughout the year but comes with some harsh conditions in monsoon and winter seasons.

Below is a summary of what each season will offer to the Everest View Trek.

Spring Season (March to May)
The spring season is considered one of the best seasons for the Everest View Trek. This season is highlighted by stable weather, clear skies, and great mountain visibility. The trails are decorated by the rhododendron and wildflower blooms. The average daytime temperature during this season is about 20°C. Travelers who are nature lovers and photography enthusiasts can trek around this time.

Summer/Monsoon Season (June to August)
This season is not so preferable for trekking and is characterized by frequent rainfall. The mountain visibility can get blocked due to clouds and mist in the monsoon. Trails also get muddy and slippery at this time. During this season, the average daytime temperature is around 22°C. Trekkers who prefer less crowded trails and want to see waterfalls can trek in this season with safety measures.

Autumn Season (late September - November)
This is the busiest and one of the most preferable seasons for the trek. The mountain scenery is at its peak after the monsoon rain. The weather is warm and stable, with the average daytime temperature of about 17°C. During this period (the end of September or October), the great festivals such as Dashain and Tihar are celebrated. It is the most optimal season for the trekkers who desire good weather, cultural exploration, and spectacular Himalayan scenery of Everest and other tall peaks.

Winter Season (December to February)
Cold weather, crisp air, and quiet trails highlight the winter season. Beautiful mountain views can be seen during this time but clouds may sometimes block the view. The average daytime temperature in this season ranges from -5°C to 10°C. Trekking during this season can be ideal for travelers who want a less crowded trail and are accustomed to cold weather conditions.

Permits required for the trek

You are required to have 2 essential permits for the Everest View Trek. They are:

1. Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit: This permit is needed to enter the Sagarmatha National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is approximately 3000 NPR per head and is available in Kathmandu or Monjo.

2. Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit: You must have this permit to trek in the Khumbu region. It costs around 2000 NPR per person and can be acquired in Kathmandu, Lukla or Monjo.

The permits will be issued and acquired by Rising Adventure on your behalf. You just need to submit a copy of your passport (valid for 6 months) and two passport-sized photos to us and trek in the Everest region without any issues.

Difficulty of Everest View Trek

The Everest View Trek can be considered one of the easiest treks in the Everest region. This trek does not involve the climb to the Everest base camp. However, there are some challenges that need to be considered before undertaking the trek. The trail follows some steep ascents and descents with rocky paths. Although the trek does not go beyond 4000 m, some people might get affected by altitude sickness.

The trek is not very demanding and can be done by first-time trekkers with decent fitness. For the trek preparation, one can do activities such as hiking, running, swimming, and cycling to increase stamina. They can also do yoga or stretching exercises for flexibility and reduce the chances of injury during the trek. If you have any illness related to the heart, lungs, or cold, you can inform the Rising Adventure staff beforehand.
