Essential Information

Accomodations during the EBC luxury trek

Your night stay along the trail will be in comfortable and luxurious lodges. The rooms will be fully furnished and have attached bathrooms in most accommodations. You might even get heated beds in some rooms. Facilities like WiFi, hot showers, and device charging will be available in your room. You will also have your meal in the famous Everest View Hotel during the trek.

In higher elevations like Gorakshep and lobuche, the rooms might not be as luxurious as those in the lower elevations of Namche Bazaar. However, we will make sure you get the best rooms in those areas.

Meals along the Trail

The meals will be provided on a 3-course basis. You will have your breakfast, lunch, and dinner in buffet style. The buffet will offer traditional Nepali dishes such as Daal Bhaat as well as varied options of Indian and western dishes. You will also have options of beverages such as beer and wine. However, we do not recommend drinking alcoholic beverages during the trek. Instead, you can drink water, soups, green tea, and hot lemon to stay hydrated and support proper acclimatization to high altitude.

Luxury EBC trek Permits

The necessary permits for the trek are as follows:

  • Sagarmatha National Park Permit
  • Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit
  • TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System)

Best time for the trek

The most ideal times to do the luxury EBC trek are during Spring (March to May) and Autumn (late September to November). These are the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons, respectively. Around these times, the weather is generally stable, the temperature is mild, and the skies are clear, showcasing the magnificent himalayan views of the Khumbu region.

The monsoon season is less crowded for trekking. However, heavy rainfall causes the trail to be slippery and muddy. Thus, making the trek much more strenuous than during the favorable seasons. Similarly, winter is not considered a great time for trekking due to very cold temperatures (especially at higher elevations) and snowy trails.

Experience needed for the EBC luxury trek

The experience required for the luxury trek is the same as the usual Everest Base Camp trek. No technical climbing experience is needed but you need to have a decent level of fitness for the trek. You need to perform exercises like swimming, cycling, running, and hiking with a backpack to boost your stamina and fitness. Similarly, do lunges and squats to strengthen your core. Do these activities 4 to 6 days a week for 2 months prior to the trek.

Who are suitable for this trek?

  • The trek is suitable for fit beginners as well as seasoned trekkers.
  • Trekkers who want a more comfortable and personalized EBC trekking experience
  • The trek can be done by people aged between 18 and 55.
  • Children who are fit and elderly people in their 60s or early 70s can do this trek with great assistance. The luxury trek is more suitable than the normal EBC trek for children and elderly people, as it offers more personalized services and a comfortable experience.

Why choose the EBC luxury trek package?

  • The EBC luxury trek offers comfortable lodging, which has many facilities included like hot showers, comfortable beds, and WiFi. This would have cost extra fees in a normal EBC trek.
  • The food options are also diverse as compared to the normal trek. The meals will be served in a buffet, giving you plenty of options of traditional nepali dishes as well as western dishes.
  • You will also take a shared helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and back if you take the luxury trek. During peak seasons, normally you will have to drive to Ramechap and then take a flight to Lukla. But the luxury trek entirely cuts that one extra process and saves you around 4 hours of time while entering and exiting Lukla.
  • The package also includes meals at the renowned Everest View Hotel. You get fine dining as well as the luxury of the incredible himalayan views, making it an unforgettable moment for you.
  • You also have the option to hire a private guide and porter on the luxury trek for a more personalized trekking experience.
