Essential Information

Best time for Putha Hiuchuli Expedition

THe preferable times for the Putha Hiuchuli climb are during the spring (march to may) and autumn (september to december) seasons. In these seasons, there is favorable weather, mild temperatures, and clear skies with amazing mountain views. Similarly, during the climbing phase, the weather is less extreme compared to winter and monsoon seasons, increasing the chances of a successful summit to Putha Hiuchuli.

Accommodations and Meals along the Expedition

The accommodations in the lower regions of the trekking phase will be in simple, locally run teahouses. The rooms will be basic yet comfortable with shared toilets, which might be western or squat style. There will be a dining hall where trekkers gather in the evenings and stay nearby the stove for warmth. As we go higher towards the base camp and high camps of Putha Hiuchuli, the night stay will be in tents. There will be tents for resting, eating, sleeping, and toilets.

Similarly, the meals are provided on a 3-course basis (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the trek. The foods will be hygienic, freshly prepared, and energy-giving for the strenuous trek and climb. There will be plenty of options of indian, tibetan, and traditional nepali foods in the teahouses of the lower regions. As we ascend to higher elevations, the food options will be limited. During your stay in the tented camps, the food will be provided to you by the cooking staff of the guided expedition team.

Permits for the Putha Hiuchuli Climbing

Here are the necessary permits for the expedition:

Physical Fitness and Preparation

  • For Stamina and Fitness: Perform activities like running, hiking with loaded backpack, cycling, and swimming to increase endurance and stamina
  • For upper body: To build strength in the upper body, you can do pull-ups, push ups or weight-lifting exercises.
  • For technical climbing: Master the use of crampons, ice axes, and ropes (ascenders and descenders) by training in an uphill/technical terrain using full gear.
  • For core and leg strength: Do exercises like lunges and squats to strengthen your core and legs.
  • For flexibility: Yoga and stretching exercises can be beneficial for flexibility and avoiding injury.
