Weight Limitation on the basis of Landing points

Though the maximum weight limitation per flight is 450 kg, including the passengers and their belongings, from Kathmandu to Lukla. It varies on the basis of altitude due to the air pressure in different places. And it remains the same till to the Syangboche village where the Everest View Hotel is located. Similarly, it can be 420 kg and 220 kg for landing at Pheriche and Kalapatthar, respectively.

Therefore, if you are 2 - 3 travelers, the Helicopter will land directly at Kalapatthar without any air pressure.  But if there are 4 to 5 travelers in a Helicopter while going to Mt. Everest, the helicopter takes an extra shuttle flight either from Syangboche or Pheriche to go to Kalapatthar Peak, depending on the weather.

Number of travelers Weight Limitation
5 Travelers maximum 500 Kg
3 Travelers maximum 250 kg
Average weight 80 kg per person

Best season for the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with landing

The Everest base camp Helicopter tour is the daily excursion of Rising Adventure. We operate this trip daily depending on the weather conditions. March to April is the best season for the Helicopter excursion to the Mt. Everest base. The weather is bright and sunny during these months, so the mountain looks crystal clear.

From December to February, you can see gorgeous mountain views due to the clear weather. But the temperature would be very cold.

However, June to mid-September has unstable weather due to the rainfall. So, the views might be gloomy. And sometimes, the trip needs to be postponed or delayed due to the bad weather.

Why land the Helicopter on Kalapatthar instead of the Everest base camp?

This is a noticeable query. So, to make it clear, Mt. Everest cannot be seen from its base camp due to its physical structure. And Mt. Nuptse has blocked Mt. Everest. So, this Helicopter landing tour at Kalapatthar displays proper closer vistas of Mt. Everest

Mt. Lhotse, Mt Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Ama Dablam, Pisang Peak, and other Khumbu glaciers can also be seen closely from Kala Patthar.

But the helicopter can be taken off at the Everest base camp on request only. A helicopter ride to the top of Mt. Everest is also possible, but we do not operate it. Didier Delsalle is the one and only person who landed a helicopter on the Everest summit in 2005 for three minutes and fifty seconds. He is considered the greatest fighter pilot.
